Stage inspections and new builds in Aintree VIC

Aintree is a new suburb with many homes being built by Woodlea Estate. The approved drawings, the engineering and the NCC set the requirements for each stage of construction. The Guide to Standards and Tolerances also applies to new homes. We inspect the frame, the lock-up stage and the final PCI to ensure the work meets these standards. We do not use AS 4349.1 for these inspections, as it is for existing homes.

Approved drawings and NCC

The approved drawings and the National Construction Code set the standards for your build. We check the build against these documents.

The Guide to Standards and Tolerances

This guide sets the tolerances for defects in new homes. We use it to assess the quality of workmanship and materials.

Frame stage

We inspect the frame against the engineering and the drawings. This checks bracing, tie-downs and structural compliance.

Lock-up stage

This stage checks the structure is waterproof and weather-tight. We look for missing flashings and poor waterproofing.

Final PCI

A final inspection is called a PCI. We check that the home meets the requirements for an occupancy permit.
